OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2008. Azercell Telecom is ready to introduce the third generation services, 3G.

Azercell General Director Halim Atesh said the company is fully ready to apply the third generation services.

“As soon as the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies allocates 3G frequency for us we will introduce it,” H.Atesh said.

Azercell Telecom is going to introduce the service in maximally short period (one year).

Earlier Azercell, the country’s largest mobile operator, has reported that it launched introduction of 3G since 2005 and spent large investments in the area.

At present the country is numbering three GSM operators -Azercell, Bakcell and Azerfon (Nar Mobile). Azerbaijan has registered totally 5 million mobile subscribers.
