OREANDA-NEWS. September 25, 2008. In the second quarter of 2009 Energoatom NAEC is expecting to sign a contract for completing the construction of the 3rd ad 4th units of Khmelnitsky NPP.

In the second quarter of 2009 Energoatom NAEC is expecting to sign a contract for completing the construction of the 3rd ad 4th units of Khmelnitsky Nuclear Power Plant (Ukraine), the vice president of the company Vladimir Bronnikov said during an international energy forum in Kyiv.

The one-bid tender is to supposed be announced in the first quarter of 2009.

Bronnikov said that the Russian offer had received the biggest number of votes as a result of selection of type of reactor for the units.

The selection was completed on Sept 26, the scientific-technical council of the Fuel and Energy Ministry is expected to approve this decision, Bronnikov said. He said that as soon as the decision was approved Energoatom would start negotiations with Russian Atomstroyexport for construction and equipment deliveries.

The final decision is expected to be made in Oct. Bronnikov said that the Russian project was sure to win.
