OREANDA-NEWS. September 25, 2008. DTEK signed an agreement to SAP to purchase SAP business solutions to create a unified enterprise management system for the DTEK Group. The corporate system SAP ERP is planned to be implemented in 2008-2012 at all the main enterprises of DTEK.
The business processes automation project for DTEK’s holding company includes the introduction of the following SAP solutions:
- enterprise resource planning - SAP ERP;
- a SAP industry solution for the energy sector - SAP for Utilities;
- budgeting and consolidation solutions.
The project will be implemented within the framework of the DTEK’s Development Strategy for 2007-2012 and the DTEK’s IT Strategy for 2009-2013. SAP solutions will ensure a high level of information support to the enterprises of the holding company as well as an effective system of communications within the DTEK Group, a unified architecture and standardized business applications for all DTEK group companies.
In the DTEK Group, SAP solutions will be simultaneously introduced in all the sectors where DTEK operates: coal production, power generation and electricity distribution.
‘This project is of special interest for us. The implementation of the SAP project will upgrade DTEK to a new level of support for the management processes in the holding company. SAP applications will contribute to the standardization and transparency of all key business processes of the company. Moreover, the project will not only assist with successful organizational changes in the holding company’s structure, but also raise the professional skills of the personnel, thus, improving the performance of all Group enterprises,’ underlined Aleksandr Melnikov, the Executive Director of SAP Ukraine.
‘DTEK considers this project as an important strategic initiative since the development of the whole Company depends on its implementation. With the support of SAP we are making a unified information system to combine the operational links of DTEK into a single chain. Furthermore, the new system will allow us to build an effective communication model within the Company and significantly reduce indirect costs,’ commented Maxim Timchenko, the CEO of DTEK.
