OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2008. The Industrial Policy Ministry of Ukraine is planning to create the Antonov state aviation concern instead of the currently functioning Aviation of Ukraine, Industrial Policy Minister Volodymyr Novytskyi told.

A relevant draft resolution of the government and a new concern statute are now undergoing interagency coordination, he says.

The minister also said the concern will incorporate the Antonov aircraft engineering complex, Kyiv's Aviant state air plant, the Kharkiv State Aviation Production Enterprise, and Kyiv-based Civil Aviation Repair Works #410.

The Antonov state aircraft engineering corporation was set up in 2005, having included the Antonov complex, the Aviant plant, the Kharkiv air enterprise, and Kyiv's aircraft repair works.

In 2007, the Antonov corporation was liquidated, and the Aviation of Ukraine concern was set up instead, comprising nine domestic air industry companies.
