Lubuskie Province to Develop Cooperation in Tourist Area
OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2008. The Lubuskie province of Poland and the Gomel oblast of Belarus will develop cooperation in various areas, head of the Polish province Helena Hatka told reporters in Gomel on September 22. She is the head of the Polish delegation which is in Gomel on an official visit.
She had a talk with local reporters after a meeting of the Polish delegation with officials of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee. According to Helena Hatka, the Lubuskie province is ready to cooperate in economic area, in education and culture, to share experience of preparation of projects within the framework of the EU models of interregional cooperation. The sides agreed that the Belarusian side will prepare proposals and the Polish side will help it to promote and carry out them.
According to the head of the Polish province, the cooperation in tourist area is the most promising. The Gomel oblast has a good tourist potential and good infrastructure. “You have good roads and it is one of the conditions to develop the tourist branch,” Helena Hatka noted.
The visit of the Polish delegation to the Gomel oblast will last for two days. Apart from official meetings, the Polish guests will visit Free Economic Zone Gomel-Raton, the National Research Centre of Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology, the Rumyantsevy-Paskevichi Palace.
