OREANDA-NEWS  On 23 September was announced, that the aggregate size of written premium under direct insurance contracts entered by the branch of Ingosstrakh in Irkutsk in 1H 2008 amounted to RUR 581.3 mln to make Ingosstrakh second largest among the insurers operating in the Irkutsk Region with the market share of 17.7%.

The size of written premium in voluntary insurance other than life insurance was reported to amount RUR 540.6 mln, including RUR 65.8 mln in private insurance, RUR 472.3 mln in property insurance and RUR 2.5 mln in liability insurance. The size of written premium in compulsory motor third party liability insurance was RUR 40.7 mln.

Ingosstrakh has retained leadership in the property insurance segment in the Irkutsk Region in 1H 2008 with the market share of 28.1%.

The payments made by Ingosstrakh in the Irkutsk Region under direct insurance contracts in January-June 2008 amounted to RUR 115.9 mln, including RUR 51.4 mln in voluntary private insurance and RUR 45.1 mln in property insurance. Compulsory motor third party liability insurance payments made amounted to RUR 19.4 mln.

The most dynamic areas of business for the Irkutsk Branch of IJSC Ingosstrakh in 1H was motor third party liability insurance: the size of premium in compulsory motor third party liability insurance and voluntary motor third party liability insurance increased by 79% and 70% over 1H 2007 respectively.

The Branch of IJSC Ingosstrakh in Irkutsk started its operation in July 2003. Today, the branch accounts for the company’s representative offices in Angards, Bratsk, Sayansk, Usolie-Sibirskoe, and points of sale in Ust Ilimsk, Ust Kut, Shelekhov and Zima.
