OREANDA-NEWS  On 23 September was announced, that Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO) and Oerlikon industrial group, whose largest shareholder is Renova Group, a leading Russian asset-management company, signed Strategic Cooperation Agreement. The Agreement signed by Leonid Melamed, RUSNANO Director General, and Vladimir Kuznetsov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OC Oerlikon Corporation AG creates a basis for the broad-spectrum cooperation that enables “complementary experience in the field of nanotechnologies” of its initiators. Agreement signing event was also attended by Executive Vice President R&D, Dr. Andreas Widl and RUSNANO Deputy Director General Alexander Losyukov.

“Since Renova Group became a shareholder of Oerlikon in 2006, the high-tech industrial group consistently aims to develop projects on the promising Russian market,” said Vladimir Kuznetsov. “I believe that cooperation with the RUSNANO will be fruitful both for Oerlikon and for development of high-technology projects in Russia.”

“We have been thoroughly preparing this agreement for 6 months. Both sides surely recognized the large potential for cooperation,” said Leonid Melamed. “There is no doubt that cooperation with Oerlikon will help us gain experience in nanotechnology commercialization. We already work together on several projects in the field of solar technology, nanotextile and nanocoatings. We plan to involve experts from Oerlikon Balzers into project applications evaluation and organize training for Russian specialists at Oerlikon Balzers facilities in the framework of our educational projects.”

Thin-film nanocoatings for manufacturing, automotive and aerospace industry, solar technology and textile industry are supposed to become the main fields of cooperation between RUSNANO and Oerlikon industrial group in the framework of the agreement.

RUSNANO and Oerlikon industrial group intend to establish regular working contacts for the detailed search, examination and realization of research and investment projects is these fields.
