It would make sense to calculate the trade between Belarus and Russia in the Russian or Belarusian rubles, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky said at the meeting with State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Pavel Borodin in Minsk, reported the Official website www.government.by.

He noted that the bilateral trade has already exceeded USD30 billion and is expected to reach a record high level in 2008. This achievement is the result of the enormous work of the Union State government, Sergei Sidorsky underlined.

The cooperation between Belarus and Russian regions is expanding. Sergei Sidorsky said that he is to pay a visit to Rostov and Saratov Regions the coming week. A delegation headed by Vologda Governor has recently visited Belarus. The sides discussed the issues that should be included in the agenda of the Union State Council of Ministers. It pertains to the development of the Union State programme.

Sergei Sidorsky noted that the forthcoming session of the Union State Council of Ministers should focus on the preparation of new Union State programmes. They include the development of nanotechnologies and space. The forthcoming session in Minsk will be held in the run-up to the Supreme State Council of the Union State.
