OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2008. 26 teams (23 men and 3 women squads) – a total of 130 people — demonstrated their ability to fight fire. The most interesting and dynamic event was relay race: the firemen cleared obstacles and put out fire by means of asbestos cloth, CO2 and foam extinguishers and water.

The contest was supervised by the deputy chief engineer for safety of Novovoronezh NPP Alexander Prytkov.

The team of the Chemical Department was the best among women. The teams of the electric networks and communications and equipment departments were the second and the third, respectively.

The best among men was the team of the Chemical Department with the squads of the Reactor-Turbine Department 2 and the Reactor-Turbine Department 1 being the second and the third, respectively.

The contest has proved that the firemen of Novovoronezh NPP are physically, morally and psychologically prepared for preventing fire.
