OREANDA-NEWS  On 22 September was announced, that four new stations of the Moscow Metro – Dostoevskaya, Maryina Roshcha, Volokolamskaya and Mitino will be opened in 2009.

“The city [of Moscow] is actively financing the development of the metro stations. Dostoevskaya and Maryina Roshcha are to open on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line, Volokolamskaya and Mitino – on the section Strogino-Mitino,” Yury Roslyak, Head of Complex of Urban Economics of Moscow, said on September 18.

The length of a new section on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line is around 3km, the Mitinsko-Stroginskaya line will be prolonged up to roughly 8.5km.

According to the official, the development of the Moscow Metro will obtain the co-financing of approximately USD 11.8 million from the federal budget.

“We ask the federal authorities for support, as they are concerned with it too. We must start building the third transfer loop and create the conditions to make the radial lines less busy,” Mr Roslyak added.
