OREANDA-NEWS. September 18, 2008. Notwithstanding the unfavorable situation currently existing on the international financial markets, foreign banks expressed significant interest in the syndicated loan and feel positive about ongoing and potential cooperation with JSC Belagroprombank in all banking business sectors, reported the press-centre of Belagroprombank.

This transaction is of particular importance due to the fact that JSC Belagroprombank is the only Belarusian bank to secure for the second time in the current year general purpose funds on the external financial market. The syndication of the facility was a success, and as a result the initial facility amount was increased by more than 2 times.

The syndicated loan granted to JSC Belagroprombank stands out among other loans granted to Belarusian borrowers by scale of the transaction on the domestic syndicated lending market and by its convenient terms.

The Mandated Lead Arrangers were Banco Finantia S.A. (Portugal), Credit Suisse (Switzerland), and Intesa San Paolo S.p.A. (Italy). It is noteworthy that for the first time on the Belarusian market Intesa SanPaolo S.p.A., the largest banking group in Italy, acted as an arranger and a main creditor of the transaction with JSC Belagroprombank. In the course of syndication JSC VTB Bank joined as an arranger of the transaction.
