OREANDA-NEWS. September 19, 2008. Russian senators: the chairman of the Nuclear Energy Sub-Committee of the Federation Council Grigory Naginsky and the chairman of the Science and Education Committee Khuseyn Chechenov met with French nuclear executives: the nuclear advisor of the Embassy of France in Russia and the executive vice president for the CIS and Eastern Europe of AREVA.

The objective of the meeting was to work out specific recommendations for developing Russian-French cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy before the meeting of Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of France Francois Fillon. The parties discussed ways to establish effective cooperation in removing restrictions and enlarging the supply of the Russian and French nuclear industries with fuel as well as to develop scientific-technical cooperation under such projects as the International Project on Innovative Nuclear Reactors and Fuel Cycles (INPRO), Generation-4, GNEP. The parties confirmed their commitment to enlarge and develop the cooperation of Russia and France, as the key players of the nuclear market.
