OREANDA-NEWS. September 18, 2008. 13th “Russia United” international scientific-industrial forum took place in Nizhniy Novgorod Sept 10–14 2008.

OKBM presented mock-ups of innovative reactors: BN-800 (800MW fast-breeder reactor), small reactors (KLT-40S, ABV, VBER) and high-temperature gas-cooled reactor GT-MGR.

The visitors showed high interest in OKBM’s products, especially in its small reactor KLT-40S designed for the world’s first floating nuclear power plant, which is presently being built at Baltiysky Zavod. OKBM’s technologies received wide response from the participants in the conference “High Technologies in Nuclear Industry: Youth In Innovative Process,” organized by the Sedakov Research Institute of Measuring Systems (NIIIS) in the framework of Russia United forum. Such a high interest can only be welcomed.

The key question asked by the visitors was the safety of nuclear power plants. This is a very topical question for the population of Nizhniy Novgorod as the local government and Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation are planning to build a nuclear power plant in the region. The answers given by the representatives of OKBM fully satisfied the visitors.
