ROSNO Pays 330,000 USD Under Aircraft Insurance Contract
OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2008. The insurance company ROSNO has paid compensation under the aircraft insurance contract covering the Beechcraft Premier-1A, whose engine was damaged by direct bird hit. The insurance compensation has amounted to 330,000 USD, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.
The engine of the Beechcraft Premier-1A business jet broke down during the flight after the direct hit by bird. The aircraft had no option but making emergency landing. The hull risks and the aircraft operator’s civil liability had been insured in ROSNO and reinsured by the international insurer Allianz SE.
On the second day after the accident, the surveyor from Allianz SE conducted visual examination of the damaged engine and negotiated its replacement for the duration of repairs. This has enabled the insurant to avoid protracted interruption in operation of this aircraft. Several days after the accident, the aircraft made it to the sky again.
ROSNO has settled this insured accident within the shortest time possible. Within one week after receipt of the defects schedule and preliminary estimate of the repairs, the company made an advance payment to the account of the technical centre Beechcraft Berlin Aviation GmbH responsible for the engine repairs. Final settlement was made upon completion of all works. Therefore, the insurant did not need to use own funds, or attract loans, to pay for the aircraft repairs.
