OREANDA-NEWS  On 16 September was announced, that Volia received a letter from the company Poverkhnost (the rights-owner of several sports TV-channels) saying that it unilaterally raises license fee up to USD 10 per subscriber from October 1, otherwise it is going to terminate the contract.

It is worth reminding that the cost of the whole Sports package offered to VOLIA subscribers containing Poverkhnost TV-channels and 5 other international sports TV-channels costs just + UAH 20.

That is why VOLIA can not agree on such terms and thus is forced to make changes in the package program list: that means that Sport 1, Sport 2, Sport 3, and Sport 4 channels, as well as Planet-Sport-Ukraine and AC Milan Channel will unfortunately be excluded from the digital packages starting from October 2008.

We would like to inform you that VOLIA is planning to complete negotiations with sports content rights-holders and add to the digital packages the world-known TV-channel — Viasat Sport and new TV-channel — Football (that will be launched in November 2008).
