OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2008. In August, external assets of the Bank of Lithuania increased by LTL 231.0 million to form LTL 15.3 billion at the end of the month, and external liabilities declined by LTL 124.9 million to LTL 92.1 million, reported the press-centre of Bank of Lithuania.

Currency in circulation went up by LTL 152.3 million to LTL 9.1 billion at the end of the month. Resident deposits with the Bank of Lithuania increased by LTL 155.8 million to LTL 5.1 billion, of which, deposits of other MFIs increased by LTL 441.3 million to LTL 3.6 billion at the end of August, while central government deposits shrank by LTL 285.4 million to form LTL 1.4 billion at the of the month.

Changes in the balance sheet items of the Bank of Lithuania have been disclosed taking into account transactions, i.e. by eliminating the effect of revaluation adjustments of prices and foreign exchange rates as well as other reclassifications.
