OREANDA-NEWS. On September 10, 2008 The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has endorsed the statute of government concern Nuclear Fuel of Ukraine, Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan said.

The statute "outlines measures to prevent alienation of state property and keep the concern operations under the Cabinet of Ministers' control", he noted.

In mid-April, the Government decided to create Nuclear Fuel of Ukraine, and liquidated state-run UkrAtomProm.

Prodan says the concern will incorporate Eastern Mining and Dressing Plant, Directorate of the enterprise being created on the basis of the Novokostiantynivske deposit of uranium ores, state-owned Smoly, Dniprovskyi plant of precision pipes, and the Ukrainian Scientific Research, Design and Prospecting Institute of Industrial Technology.

Upon completion of financial recovery proceedings at Government enterprise Zirconium, the latter may also be included in the concern, the Minister says.
