OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2008. Number of registered legal entities in Uzbekistan comprised 481,600 as of 1 July 2008, of which 451,500 are operating (93.8% from total number of registered enterprises), according to the Single State Registrar of enterprises and organizations, reported the press-centre of State Committee on Demonpolizaion, Support of Competition and Entrepreneurship.

Share of small businesses in gross domestic product (GDP) comprised 40.2% in the first half of 2008.

The small enterprises produced 9.6%, microfirms – 13.1% and individual enterprises – 17.5% of the GDP in the reporting period.
