In 2009 Budget of Ukraine Inflation Forecast at 9,5%
OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2008. The Government intends combined revenues of the budget of Ukraine for 2009 at the rate of 372.1 bn UAH, while expenditures – at the rate of 400 bn UAH. Prime Minister of Ukraine announced during a meeting into considering the indices of 2009 State Budget with representatives of Economics Ministry, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and Finance Ministry of Ukraine.
Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized that revenues of the budget in 2009 would amount by 92 bn UAH up from 2008, while expenditures – by 99.4 bn UAH.
The Premier added that in view of economic growth, dehadowing of economy, curbing inflation the tentative budget revenues will be added with 100 bn UAH in 2009. “It implies that owing to the intensive activity of the Government, the whole state, owing to the effectively elaborated concepts and strategies the country will have a possibility to spend up to 100 bn UAH additionally for its own development in 2009,” the Head of Government stressed.
In his turn, Economics Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn explained that 2009 draft budget is counted in line with principal macroeconomic indices – GDP growth at the rate of 6% and index of consumer prices at the rate of 9.5%. At this, Yulia Tymoshenko urged that it is an inflation showing which “appears an ambitious task for the Government” and added that the Cabinet of Ministers will further act for the sake of inflation level decrease.
Besides, according to Minister of Labour and Social Policy Liudmyla Denysova, the tentative draft budget contains minimal subsistence wage for the following year for disabled persons 568 UAH (in 2008 – 544), for capable – 770 (663) UAH.
The PM Yulia Tymoshenko also emphasized that firstly, in 2009, during the year minimal salary will be approaching the minimal subsistence wage. In addition, Yulia Tymoshenko was heard as saying, 2009 budget has a showing of an average wage for pension calculation on the level of 1197 UAH, which is almost by 200 UAH more against 2008. The Head of Government disclosed that in average for 2009 the growth of salary is planned by 32% more, while the pensions – by up to 20%.
Yulia Tymoshenko added that the budget of the state has to be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada by September 15. “I consider our Government will do all our best to ensure timely consideration by the Verkhovna Rada,” Prime Minister pledged.
