Economic Changes Bring New Challenges in Baltic M&A Market
OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2008. In Riga the 2nd annual international M&A focused conference „Successful M&A: everything about organising of sale and most recent market tendencies” was organized by the publishing house Dienas bizness in cooperation with Sorainen Riga office and which was very well attended and evaluated by more than 150 participants, reported the press-centre of Sorainen.
The aim of this conference was to provide business persons with detailed information on legal and financial aspects of an M&A transaction from the seller’s point of view and latest developments in the Baltic M&A market. The speakers of the conference were highly qualified consultants, as well as practitioners.
“The conference showed that despite of the negative tendencies in the Baltic economies there is a great interest in M&A and this market is active, though the economic situation has an impact on the nature of the transactions and therefore from the sellers’ driven M&A market still last year we are now facing a considerable increase in the buyers’ bargaining positions.
The number of the attendants and the lively discussions confirmed that despite of the considerable amount of events organized on M&A issues, the topic is still very topical as the global and local economic changes bring new challenges and issues to analyze” concluded Eva Berlaus-Gulbe, partner and sworn attorney-at-law from Sorainen Riga office.
