Media Representatives Visited Port of Klaipeda
OREANDA-NEWS. On September 05, 2008 a group of the country‘s media representatives visited the port of Klaipeda. They got acquainted with the port‘s activities, its opportunities, capacity, nowadays infrastructure and growth prospects, reported the press-centre of Klaipeda State Seaport.
The guests together with employees of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania visited SE „Klaipeda State Seaport Authority“ (J. Janonio g. 24). The journalists found out about the Klaipeda seaport‘s activities, opportunities, capacity and prospects for growth as presented by the managers of the Seaport Authority.
After the meeting at the Seaport Authority, the journalists had a bus trip to a few of the port‘s companies: JSC „Vakaru laivu gamykla“ („Western Shipbuilding Yard“), „Klaipedos konteineriu terminalas“ Ltd. („Klaipeda Container Terminal“), and JSC Klaipeda Steveadoring Company KLASCO (International Sea Ferry). Employees of the mentioned companies acquainted the guests with the activities of their companies.
Later on, a tour on a rescue boat „Sakiai“ was organized (from the International Sea Ferry). The journalists had a chance to see the port‘s aquatorium, the port‘s infra- and suprastructure, the Seaport authority‘s plans for the port‘s infrastructure imporvement and prospectives for the port‘s growth.
