MicroLink Acquires Biggest Training Company in Baltic
OREANDA-NEWS. September 05, 2008. The biggest Estonian infotechnology company MicroLink buys 82,9% stocks of IT Koolituskeskus.
MicroLink will purchase the ownership stake from the current owners of IT Koolituskeskus, with the cost totalling at 22 million kroons. CEO of Microlink Enn Saar said that IT Koolituskeskus has a good client base, a professional team and a good reputation amongst clients. Acquisition of the training company enables MicroLink to provide high quality training and consultation services to different clients and partners.
According to CEO of Microlink Enn Saar, the benefits that companies and users gain from infotechnology depends on whether people start using new technologies: „The role of training is important, acquisition of IT Koolituskeskus allows us to focus more on training clients in areas related to infotechnology.“
Saar also says that the company's goal is to start providing services in all three Baltic States and sales departments of IT Koolituskeskus in Latvia and Lithuania create excellent opportunities for growth in those markets. „Acquisition of IT Koolituskeskus is the first step in restoring MicroLink's presence in the Baltic States and advancing to other nearby markets,“ commented Saar.
Member of Board of IT Koolituskeskus Raul Niini said that MicroLink's ownership role will increase the company's growth potential and gives an opportunity to widen the array of services provided: „MicroLink is one of the leading IT companies in the Baltic region and we are glad over the attention of a strong strategic investor,“ said Niin.
IT Koolituskeskus was founded in 1995, which makes it one of the oldest IT training companies in Estonia. In addition to training in Estonia the company also provides its services in Latvia and Lithuania (IT Protraining) and is the leading IT training, consultation and certification services provider in the Baltics. Sales of the company in 2007 ammounted to 29 million kroons.
