OREANDA-NEWS. September 05, 2008. At the end of August 2008, official reserve assets made up LTL 15.51 billion (EUR 4.49 billion). In August, they increased by LTL 270.2 million, i.e. 1.8 percent. Official reserve assets excluding funds received from repo deals went up by LTL 406.1 million or 2.7 percent in August 2008, reported the press-centre of Bank of Lithuania.

The increase of official reserve assets was driven by increase in deposits of other MFIs with the Bank of Lithuania and currency in circulation respectively by LTL 441.3 million and LTL 152.3 million, as well as an LTL 84.1 million increase in other factors.

Official reserve assets were pushed down by a decrease of LTL 285.2 million in the central government deposits with the Bank of Lithuania and a drop of LTL 122.3 million in external liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania.

Official reserve assets data for September 2008 will be released on 7 October 2008.
