OREANDA-NEWS. On September 03, 2008 the Khabarovsk Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (OFAS Russia) fined "Khabarovsknefteproduct" OJSC 13 960 000 Rubles for engaging in concerted actions with "RN-Vostoknefteproduct" Ltd., aimed at fixing retail prices for selling motor petrol and diesel fuel in the Khabarovsk region, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 23rd July 2008, the Khabarovsk OFAS Russia recognized that "Khabarovsknefteproduct" OJSC and "RN-Vostoknefteproduct" Ltd. violated Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" and issued a determination to terminate concerted actions on the retail market of oil products.

Despite different approaches to pricing and different business environment, "Khabarovsknefteproduct" OJSC и "RN-Vostoknefteproduct" Ltd. were simultaneously increasing selling prices for oil products at their refueling stations during a long period of time.

Inspectrions by the Antimonopoly Office and the information presented by the investigated economic entities confirmed that there were no objective reasons such pricing behavior of these market agents in the period in question.

On 25th August 2008, in accordance with Article 14.32 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations, the Khabarovsk OFAS Russia imposed an administrative fine upon "RN-Vostoknefteproduct" Ltd. in the amount of 4 204 000 Rubles for exercising concerted actions with "Khabarovsknefteproduct" OJSC.
