OREANDA-NEWS. On September 03, 2008 "Aeroflot Russian Airlines" has received its 19th A320. The aircraft has been named in honor of the famous Russian traveler, pioneer and entrepreneur in Russia’s Far East Yerofey Khabarov, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

This is the third airplane leased under a contract concluded in October 2007. AerCap (AER) from the Netherlands acts as Aeroflot’s new leasing company. Prior to this new A320 aircraft, Aeroflot leased from GECAS and RBS, as well as directly from Airbus.
In 2008, Aeroflot expects the delivery of another six A320 aircraft. All aircraft will be delivered directly from the factory of the manufacturer.

Today, Aeroflot owns 40 A320-family aircraft, including eleven A319, 19 A320, and ten A321. The two-class cabins are able to provide seats for 116 (A319), 140 (A320), and 170 (A321) passengers.

Aeroflot operates its Airbus A320-family aircraft to European as well as domestic destinations. Measured by indicators of operational reliability and actual flying time, Aeroflot is among the world’s leaders.

The Airbus A320 is one of the best airplanes on medium-range flights; it meets all the requirements of safety, reliability and passenger convenience.

In 2008, at the 46th “Farnborough International Airshow”, Aeroflot signed a contract for the purchase of five A321. In accordance with the signed contract, Aeroflot is going to receive the airplanes between August and December of 2013.
