Rosatom Plans to Develop Nuclear Medicine
OREANDA-NEWS. September 5, 2008. Rosatom is planning to develop nuclear medicine, Director General of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko said during his visit to Zheleznogorsk Mining Chemical Combine.
Rosatom is actively discussing the possibility of developing nuclear medicine and isotope production. “We have decided to set up a special state corporation for consolidating the existing technologies in the field of radio-isotope diagnostics, production of radio-nuclides of medical purpose and other research and experimental projects in the field of bio-organic chemistry, genetic engineering and medicine,” Kiriyenko said.
He pointed out that the corporation would be established in the framework of the “Health” national project.
