OREANDA-NEWS  On 05 September was announced, that the Motor Vehicle Insurance Bureau of Ukraine ("MVIBU") published the "avtograzhdanka" market's results for the 1st half-year of 2008. According to the data of the Bureau, the National Joint-Stock Insurance Company "Oranta" remains the leader in this market segment both by number of policies issued for obligatory car owner's liability insurance ("OSAGO") and by the volume of insurance payments.

According the data of MVIBU, for the 6 months of 2008 the Ukrainian insurance companies issued 3.135 mln. OSAGO policies, having received more than UAH 602,373 mln. of insurance premiums. The amount of insurance payments by the companies - MVIBU members for the 1st half-year amounts to UAH193,49 mln.

According the data of the Financial and Economic Department of NASK "Oranta", as of the 18th of August the total of insurance receipts in whole for the Company was UAH 598,5 mln. from the beginning of year. In comparison with the similar period in 2007 increase in premiums was UAH 232,4 mln. or 63,5%. From the beginning of year, the total of insurance payments for the Company amounts to UAH 210,4 mln., level of payments is 35,1%.
