RussNeft Gained High Yields due to Lateral Wells Drilling in Siberia
OREANDA-NEWS On 04 September was announced, that the results of drilling “RussNeft”’s lateral wells which have been constructed during the 8 months of the current year significantly exceeded average daily yields of newly drilled wells at the plants of the holding. The company’s certainty of necessity of using better technologies has got objective confirmation.
Successful drilling was preceded by calculation made at hydrodynamic models of oilfields and practical explorations of the geologists of “RussNeft” who had determined and proved the prospects of lateral drilling at certain license areas as compared with earlier applied traditional methods of oil production.
Thus, at one of the oilfields of “Siberian” producing block of “RussNeft” group (Yeguriakhskoye) in Khanty-Mansi District – Yugra, well No 516, having average yield of about 41,7 tons showed, after lateral drilling, entry current yield of 362 tons.
Lateral drilling have been applied this year at Roskavlskoye oilield too, were the average yield at the enterprise amounts to 81 tons per day. Daily flow rate of wells No 102 and No 103, drilled at the oilfield, amounted to 246 tons and 637 tons per day, respectively. The accumulated geological data and technological experience supported by actual results demonstrate both efficiency of using lateral drilling and, not infrequently, potentials of the oilfields which were put into production many years ago.
High yields received at the oilfields of “RussNeft” group in Western Siberia determine further plans of the holding for lateral drilling. The subsidiaries of producing block of the company are going to have drilled in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District six more lateral wells before the end of the year.
