OREANDA-NEWS. September 3, 2008. The URM-2 universal rocket module will undergo firing tests in Rocket Space Industrial R&D Center in Sergiev Posad, Moscow region. The module is a part of the Angara launcher. The firing test is a mandatory step in the test and integration procedure for any type of launcher.

Angara launchers represent a new generation of space rockets which use universal rocket modules with oxygen and kerosine engines. Angara`s classes vary from light to heavy, from 1.5t to 2.5t lifting capacity to LEO.

Russian Angara rockets are to be launched from the Plesetsk space port. The unique Angara launch pad provides the capability to launch all classes of the Angara rockets.
