OREANDA-NEWS. September 02, 2008. The amount of transactions of purchasing main foreign currencies on the market for lei totaled USD718.4 mln., sales totaled USD 734.1 mln.

In comparison with the previous month’s indicators, the purchase amount increased by 7.5%, the amount of sales rose by 2.8% in July of this year. 55.1% of the total foreign exchange market transactions volume fell to the share of operations with dollar.

The share of transactions with euro made up 30.9%, of those with Russian ruble – 13.1%, with Ukrainian gryvna – 0.7%, with Romanian lei – 0.2%.

The share of the turnover with dollar increased by 4.6 percentage points and that with euro and Russian ruble reduced by 1.5 and 3.4 percentage points, respectively, against June 2008.
