OREANDA-NEWS. September 01, 2008. The Government has drafted a new model of financing the educational institutions in six flood-hit regions in July. This was informed by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko at a briefing after the selector meeting with heads of these regions.

The Prime Minister told that Government had launched a new program for suffered regions concerning the building of new educational institutions, overhaul of the existent educational institutions and providing them with necessary inventory.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, such program envisages also a new model of financing.

The Prime Minister stressed that before Wednesday for every educational institution of such territories special treasury accounts would be available with the purpose of providing above-mentioned needs. The Head of Government noted that, in accordance with the new model of financing, directly an educational institution commands funds of these accounts but not district offices of education and administrations as it was before.

“Then, if we succeed in it, and I am confident that this model of financing is efficient, we’ll spread it among all educational institutions of the country,” Yulia Tymoshenko said. The PM noted that she personally would control introduction of this program into life.

Besides, Yulia Tymoshenko stressed that cost estimation for overhaul of educational institutions and buying inventory would draw educational institutions whereupon submitted for examination to district and state administrations. “We transfer from total, typical planning to direct considering of problems of every educational institution,” the Head of Government said.
