Vorkutinskaya CHPP-2 Supplies Heating to Consumers of Vorkuta
OREANDA-NEWS. On 01 September 2008 was announced, that Vorkutinskaya CHPP-2 started heating supply to residential and industrial facilities of the city since August, 28. All actions are being implemented in accordance with the resolution on beginning of the heating season issued by the Head of Vorkuta Administration.
Within the preparation for the heating season all networks pumps as well as fixtures have been repaired, and network heaters have been cleaned. The repair of boilers and turbines is implemented in accordance with the annual schedule of works. Pipelines heat insulation works are coming to the end and shall be completed by the end of September. As of today 170mln rubles have been spent, that makes 62% of funds assigned to the repair program by IES-Holding the new owner of the company. Fuel store of the power plants exceeds the norm. Thus, the black oil reserve makes 9,5 thousand tons (the norm is 2,5 thousand tons), coil reserve makes 12,100 thousand tons at the norm of 10,900 thousand tons.
Vorkutinskaya CHPP-2 incorporates the heating networks supplying heat to industrial settlements and facilities. According to the Chief Engineer of the Branch Vyacheslav Dyakonov the main damages of the pipelines located in the arctic area are caused by flash of the ground therefore TGC-9 specialists have re-laid the pipelines in wetland area. There was also conducted the technical diagnosis of the network pipeline No.1 on the “West” branch 15km long. Pipeline No.3 supports were repaired in the most problem area of 1km long area. In tote according to the results of pipelines tests there were identified and eliminated 66 defects. All repair works performed within the Branch were focused on heat supply reliability and quality improvement in the new heating season.
Filling of the heating systems will be started on August, 27 in order to launch heat supply to Vorkuta citizens on August, 28.
TGC-9 Branch Vorkutinskaya CHPP-2 incorporates the generating capacities of Vorkutinskaya CHPP-1 and CHPP-2. The total installed energy capacity is 295MWt, heat – 605Gkal/hour. The Branch starts the heating season earlier than the other production facilities of the Company and supplies heat to the northernmost city of the Komi Republic. Traditionally the beginning of the heating season in Vorkuta is timed to the Miner’s Day celebrated on the last Sunday of August.
