On 01 September 2008 was announced, that August 28 began to function the first the construction stage of special economic zone "Alabuga", which has included 1, 2 and 3 starting complexes. The territory of queue data SEZ is outfitted by the barrier in accordance with standard legal acts of Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, the barrier length amounted to more 19 km .

Beginning functioning of first construction stage SEZ "Alabuga" allows SEZ residents to speed up the realization of his projects in the SEZ territory and to obtain all the necessary benefits and preference, provided for by federal law of July 22.2005. №116-FZ "On special economic zones in the Russian Federation".

Also, for purposes of preservation of pace of construction SEZ "Alabuga" and preservation in existence road and SEZ customs infrastructure is completed the construction and the functioning of temporary check point for entrance ( departure ) in (from ) SEZ "Alabuga" construction engineering and motor vehicles, implementing the import of goods, not the put under customs regulations of the free customs zone has started.
