On August 26-27, 2008 ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Republic of Nigeria in Russian Federation Timoti Mai Shelpidi has visited production enterprises of one of the leading Russian machinery engineering holdings, situated in Chuvash Republic, reported the press-centre of “Tractor Plants”.

On 26-27 of August ambassador extraordinary and plenipotent of Republic of Nigeria in Russian Federation Timoti Mai Shelpidi has visited production enterprises of one of the leading Russian machinery engineering holdings, situated in Chuvash Republic. According to the words of His Excellency Mr. Shelpidi, for the first time he got acquainted with innovational equipment of the Concern “Tractor plants” during Russian Tractor Show, which has been held in Moscow in the end of May.

For the beginning Ambassador visited third in the world producer of heavy industrial machines – “Promtractor” JSC. Detailed acquaintance with manufacturing process, inspection of assembly conveyor, held test-drive on the newest super-tractor Chetra-40 of 75 tons assured the Ambassador in progressive approaches to the design engineering of equipment and machines. Also His Excellency Mr. Shelpidi has been presented “Cheboksary aggregate works” JSC – producer of wide range of spare parts and aggregates for tractors. The possibility of spare parts deliveries is highly important for Nigeria alongside with deliveries of new equipment.

At the meeting taken place in the office of Company of Corporative Governance “Concern Tractor Plants” from Russian side the Ambassador has been welcomed by first vice-President of the Concern, member of Central Council of “ Union of machinery producers of Russia” Albert Bakov and Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers of Chuvash Republic Sergey Gaplikov.

According to Albert Bakov, this visit will contribute to further strengthening of historically existing business relations between Russian Federation and Federal republic of Nigeria. And Concern “Tractor plants” is deeply interested in development of mutually profitable and long lasting cooperation with state structures and leading companies of Nigeria.

His Excellency Mr. Shelpidi describing his impressions from the trip, said: “Nigeria is agricultural country. But, besides this, we develop construction industry, oil and gas production. I see that your equipment is not so bulky like that we got used to see. Your tractors are very compact and maneuverable. And I’m sure that this equipment is exactly what developing countries like Nigeria need for work”.
