OREANDA-NEWS. On 28 August 2008 was announced, that the metro stations: Myakinino, Volokolamskaya and Mitino are to be placed in operation in northwest Moscow by late 2009.

“We have recently adopted the program aimed at developing the Moscow Metro that is currently being implemented. According to it, the metro stations: Myakinino, Volokolamskaya, Mitino are to open by the end of 2009,” Dmitry Gaev, head of the Moscow Metro, said at a press conference on August 28.

The official added that around 9 km of metro lines would be railed. “So, when these stations have been commissioned, the notorious gridlocks on Volokolamskoe Highway will sink into oblivion and the residents of the northwestern Moscow will get 3 new stations,” Mr Gaev noted.
