OREANDA-NEWS. August 29, 2008. To the Day of Metallurgist results of the second quarter competition for the title “Best labour protection collective” were summarized.

In the first group of shops the winner became the collective of the blast furnace shop and it was given a bonus at the rate of 10 000 UAH.

In the second group the winner was the scrap processing shop. Their bonus was 5000 UAH.

In the third group the winner was the collective of the internal non-departmental guards. They also received 5000 UAH.

The same sum of money was given to the collectives of the Metal Structure Shop and recreation center “Metallurg” on the Azov Sea, who became the winners in the 4th and 5th groups.

At the meeting on labour protection, which was held at the end of July, questions regarding the state of labour protection at the Works and in the branch of industry were discussed.

In whole, 7 accidents occurred at the Works during the second quarter, 6 of which occurred due to organizational reasons and also due to the fact that the victims did not fulfill the legislative enactment on labour protection. Violators of the legislative enactments were written out 1396 warning tickets. To improve the work on preventing occupational traumatism and also to eliminate the existing drawbacks certain effective measures were worked out at the meeting.
