OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2008. Murmansk Sea Shipping Company OJSC and Atomflot FSUE (Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation) signed an act of competition of procedures for transferring ships with nuclear reactors and nuclear service ships from the trust management of Murmansk Sea Shipping Company into the economic management of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation.

In this connection the parties:

• confirm that the transfer of property from the trust management of Murmansk Sea Shipping Company OJSC into the economic management of Atomflot FSUE has been carried out in full compliance with the schedule approved by the Government of the Russian Federation with the interests of the owner of the icebreakers, the Russian Federation, fully observed;
• express satisfaction with the work done through coordinated efforts, cooperation and mutual consultations;
• point out that they have carried out all necessary measures for ensuring nuclear and radiation safety and protecting the environment from radiation. Particularly, the parties carried out thorough preparatory work on the basis of existing agreements, ensured scheduled transfer of the personnel, the operator obtained all necessary licenses and other authorization documents regulating its activities in line with the legislation of the Russian Federation and in compliance with international rules, standards and requirements;
• express gratitude to the Ministry of Transport, the Federal Sea and River Transport Agency, Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, Federal State Property Management Agency, Federation Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision, Territorial Department of the Federal State Property Management Agency for Murmansk region, Administration of Murmansk Sea Port for their constructive cooperation under the project;
• express gratitude to the personnel of the ships and auxiliary facilities for their understanding and support throughout the process of reorganization of the nuclear icebreakers management system;
• express conviction that Murmansk Sea Shipping Company and Atomflot will continue their constructive, fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation.
