OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2008. During a rally in the center of the city the acting mayor of Kurchatov Vadim Yeletskikh presented the local veterans with medals. The people laid flowers to the Tank Monument and the communal graves in the villages of Tarasovo and Uspenka and celebrated the historic victory at a concert in the Culture House.

Kursk NPP actively supports war veterans: it patronizes 58 veterans of the Great Patriotic War as well as widows of veterans and residents of besieged Leningrad. The plant helps them to repair their houses, to buy medicines, to spend their holidays at health centers.

Kursk NPP actively restores communal graves and monuments in the area and forms special groups for searching for the remains of killed soldiers. For its active patriotic work the search detachment of Kursk NPP has been presented with a certificate of honor of the administration of Kurchatov.
