On 26 August 2008 was announced, that according to Irkutskenergo, Gazprombank is recognized to be the winner following the results of three open competitions for attraction of credit resources in the amount of RUR 2.4 billion. Proceeds of the credit in the amount of RUR 2.4 billion will be directed to financing of the current activity of the enterprise.

Irkutskenergo is an independent regional power company which is a monopoly as to generation, transmission and distribution of electric and thermal energy on the territory of the Irkutsk region. The installed capacity of the Irkutsk power supply system is 12.9 thousand MW.
