120-Ton Transformer Was Delivered to Padunskaya Substation
OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 August 2008 was announced, that the 120-ton transformer was delivered yesterday from Bratsk HPS to Padunskaya substation of Bratsk city. One of two transformers available there was burned with lightning stroke. In order to prevent fault of the electric power supply, the device was supposed to be replaced. Preparation for transportation of a large-sized cargo took many days. The gross weight of transport equaled 150 tons. From Bratsk HPS to Padunskaya substation, the column accompanied by cars of the State Traffic Safety Inspection moved about two hours with average speed of three and a half kilometers an hour. The old transformer was taken for repairs.
According to Alexander Ponarev, Deputy Chief of Padunskaya substation, transportation passed normally. Transportation was carried out by the contractor. The transformer will be unloaded within two or three days. It will take two or three weeks to mount it completely.
