OREANDA-NEWS. August 25, 2008. The parties to the project discussed the current situation on the construction sites of the 1st and 2nd units of the plant, summed up the results of the work done since the previous meeting and outlined tasks for the following period.

Presently, they continue constructing the main buildings of the 1st unit, laying the foundation plate of the main and auxiliary buildings of the reactor, the turbine and reserve diesel station building. Over 4,000 c m of concrete has been laid so far in the foundations of the main building and almost 2,500 c m in the foundations of the auxiliary building.

At the same time they are digging the foundation pit of the 2nd unit. Almost 150,000 c m of earth has been removed from the pit so far.

The constructors are also building auxiliary roads in order to reduce the load on Novovoronezh’s streets.

The construction of temporary houses for constructors is well underway. The first buildings will be ready in Oct 2008.

Presently, the constructors are finishing to equip the Kameno-verkhovsky water supply complex so as to ensure uninterrupted water supply of Novovoronezh NPP, Novovoronezh NPP-2 and the city.

In Jan-July 2008 Atomenergoproekt OJSC provided the suppliers and the contractor organizations with over 5bln RUR.

Representatives of Atomenergoprom OJSC, Rosenergoatom Concern, the Administration of Voronezh region and Novovoronezh, the managers of the contractor and sub-contractor organizations took part in the meeting. The meeting was chaired by the director general of Atomenergoproekt OJSC Vladimir Generalov.
