OREANDA-NEWS. On 22 August 2008 was announced, that Allianz Ukraine Insurance Company compensated losses in the amount of UAH 5,178,876 to Ukrainian Commercial Fleet state shipping company for the damaged property.

“Serhiy Skadovsky” motor ship owned by Ukrainian Commercial Fleet SSC and insured by Allianz Ukraine Ins.Co.. Sailing through Kerch Strait, the vessel incurred constructional hull damage, which was caused by ice pressure at ice channeling resulting in emergency stranding. As a consequence of the wrecking, cracks, dents, and breaches on the portside and the starboard side appeared.

Insurance indemnity to Ukrainian Commercial Fleet SSC was paid out within three stages. Total amount paid was UAH 5,178,876.
