Ukraine Allots Funds for Reconstruction in Georgia
OREANDA-NEWS. On August 20, 2008 The Government of Ukraine has allocated UAH 55 million aimed at necessity works into reconstruction of the destroyed accommodation and objects of social infrastructure of Georgia.
A respective order was voted in the course of an enlarged sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced that the money has been earmarked from the Reserve Fund of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. “Ukraine was close by Georgia in the most uneasy moments and I’d like us to continue this good tradition nowadays,” she emphasized.
At this the Head of Government has empowered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to address the Embassy of Georgia in Ukraine with the demand to control coming of the mentioned funds directly to the citizens of Georgia who had been deprived of their homes. “The money has to be distributed correctly among them and people must feel that the Government of Ukraine, the whole Ukraine are with the citizens of Georgia who had suffered great losses,” Yulia Tymoshenko urged.
Furthermore, the Gov’t has adopted an order on health improving of children from Georgia in Ukraine. Pursuant to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine a group of 200 Georgian children will have rest in a camp in Yevpatoriya. 1 million 550 thousand 200 UAH are envisaged with this aim which has been also allotted from the Reserve Fund of the CMU.
