Kazakhtelecom Provides Technical Support for CICA States Meeting
OREANDA-NEWS. On August 25, 2008 the 3rd meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia will take place in Almaty. A leading operator of Kazakhstan JSC Kazakhtelecom provides technical support for this international meeting, the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom reported.
CICA - Interstate forum for dialogue, consultation, decision-making and implementation of measures on the basis of consensus on issues relating to security in Asia. CICA member States: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, Mongolia, Egypt, India, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Palestine, South Korea, Russia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
For the first time the idea of creating CICA voiced President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in 1992 - year at 47 - first session of the UN General Assembly. The first summit was held in Almaty in 2002. The purpose of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) is to create a unique structure, encompassing the entire Asian continent.
JSC "Kazakhtelecom" provided technical support for the meeting.
