OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2008. Kazakhstani Enterprises of connection provided services for the amount of 232.4 billion tenge (current 120,15 / US1) in January-July 2008, which is 20.6% more than in the corresponding period last year, the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom reported.

According to the RK Agency for Statistics, for the population of the country was provided services in amount of 94.9 billion tenge for the specified period, which is 16.2% more than in January-July 2007.

In the reporting period in the structure of revenues from telecommunication services proportion of mobile communications was 52.7% (compared with January-July 2007 volume of mobile services increased up to 23.2%).

In total volume of Kazakhstani Enterprises of connection revenues in period of January-July 2008, revenues from sales of connection services for population amounted 40.8%. Including 58.5% - revenue from mobile connection services, 18% - distance and international connection, 10.4% - local telephone connection and 13.3% - other forms of connection.

According to the statistical agencies, in the reporting period to the active development of telecommunications have contributed such factors as the increasing subscriber base, providing new products and the reduction of tariff plans for telecommunication services.

Today in Kazakhstan the bulk of telecommunication services and connection services provided respectively JSC “Kazakhtelecom” and the State-owned company "Kazpost ". The republic has five mobile operators, including three operators providing GSM services.
