OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 August 2008 the Armenian Technology Congress (ArmTech) announced that ArmTech Congress ’08, a global high-technology-focused event, will be held in Yerevan on October 4-5, 2008, at the Marroitt Hotel. This is the second in a series of high technology congresses and exhibitions envisioned under the banner of “Learning from the past and inventing the future.” The event is designed for professionals interested in engaging in the global Armenian community and the rapidly rising technology sector of Armenia.

The first Armenian Technology Congress, ArmTech Congress ’07, took place in San Francisco, in California, USA on July 4-7, 2007, at the Fairmont Hotel. Designed to promote both professional networking and valuable connections for operating companies and entrepreneurs, the event featured presentations of the technology achievements and challenges of Armenia by numerous operating companies, service providers, academic institutions and government officials from the U.S., Armenia and around the world.

ArmTech Congress ’08 is aimed to: provide global networking and community resources for Armenian high tech professionals; showcase the global contributions of Armenian professionals in high tech and allied fields; attract global participation by individuals and entities that can benefit from involvement with the Armenian high tech community; promote opportunities to do business; recruit and invest in Armenian high tech; highlight the rise of Armenia’s strategic high tech industry; and promote international interactions and investments for further growth.

The Government the Republic of Armenia (RA) stressed the importance of the ArmTech Congress as a means to provide the platform to discuss, plan and execute policies and actions to keep Armenia on the current path of excellent achievement, and increasing global recognition, as one of the fastest growing high tech destinations in the world. Moreover the Government of the RA considers the ArmTech Congress an unprecedented opportunity to obtain business and professional information and make key connections spanning the global high tech industry. Directly involved will also be government representatives from Armenia and the U.S., major players in the financial and services sectors, and leading academics.
