OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2008. Ukraine intends to revise the expediency of its participation in different projects of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko told the online conference at the GlavRed publishing house.

"Ukraine does not recognize legal personality of this organization, we are no members of the CIS Economic Court, we did not ratify the CIS Statute, and thus we cannot from the international law viewpoint be considered a full member of the organization. Ukraine is a participant rather than a member-country," Ohryzko says.

The bill on denunciation of the agreement on the creation of the Commonwealth of Independent States was registered at the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine on August 14.
