OREANDA-NEWS. August 18, 2008. In I half of 2008, the volume of transactions with securities at the secondary market amounted to 630.9 million leis, decreasing by 28.7% as compared with the corresponding period of 2007.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, transactions held through the Stock Exchange amounted to 348,8 million leis.

As compared with the same period of the last year, they declined by 1.8 times. The volume of transactions with securities at the outer banking market totalled 282.1 million leis, or 13% more as compared to January-June 2007.

As of July 1, 2008, the National securities depository, Stock Exchange of Moldova, 24 brokerage companies, 13 independent registrars, 7 organizations on administration of investment, 4 organizations on assessing securities and assets operated at the Stock Exchange Market.

Till June 30, 2008 constituent emissions of 3742 joint-stock companies, 190 of which are companies with the foreign and mixed capital were registered in the National Commission for Financial Market. At the same time, 607 joint stock companies were excluded from the State Register.
