Ukrainian Flood-Hit Regions Building Up Houses on Their Own
OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2008. The majority of residents of Ukraine's flood-hit regions are building up their houses on their own, others are willing to buy houses in the secondary market, and a number of pensioners are planning to go to their children to other populated localities, Regional Development and Construction Minister Vasyl Kuibida said.
He said projects had been drafted in Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi regions for allocation of funds for the restoration of social and cultural infrastructure. Particularly, Bukovyna needs UAH 62 million, Vinnytsia and Ivano-Frankivsk UAH 33 million each.
Beside that, the minister said, five typical designs of dwelling houses were sent to provinces.
