OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2008. Irkutsk hosted a press conference featuring the following speakers: Vladimir Pashkov, Deputy Governor of the Irkutsk Region for economics and finance; Dr. Klaus Junker, Executive Vice President of Allianz SE; Hannes S. Chopra, head of the Allianz Eurasia Group and CEO of ROSNO; Maxim Chernin, CEO of the Insurance Company Allianz ROSNO Life, and Alexander Makhankov, head of ROSNO’s Siberian Directorate, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

The press conference participants discussed creation of mutually beneficial terms and conditions of efficient cooperation between the Allianz Group companies and the regional administration to the benefit of development of the Irkutsk Region.

The Deputy Governor of the Irkutsk Region Mr. V.I. Pashkov told of the prospects for cooperation with the Allianz Eurasia Group. In his speech, Dr. Klaus Junker covered the activities of the international financial and insurance conglomerate Allianz SE, focusing on the development of insurance markets of the Central and Eastern Europe. Mr. Hannes Chopra elaborated on various aspects of business operations of the Allianz Eurasia Group in Russia and CIS, emphasizing the development of insurance in the Siberian region.

The Eastern-Siberian and Middle-Siberian Directorates, included into the unified Siberian directorate in April 2008, were named the company’s best directorates by all criteria (premium written, premium collected, profitability, etc.) on the basis of their performance in 2007. Based upon the year 2007 results, the unified Directorate earned 37 mln roubles of profit, two times exceeding the planned figure. This became possible thanks to the active property insurance work, voluntary medical insurance, and accident insurance. In accordance with the year results, the OMTPL share in the Directorate’s portfolio is 23.2%, while MOD accounts for 25.9%, VMI is 15.6%, and property insurance is 11.3%.

In his speech, Mr. Chopra noted that ROSNO’s strategic regional objectives remain the same: attainment of leadership and improvement of customer service quality. "ROSNO’s plans in the Siberian region constitute a part of the uniform regional policy of our company, whose major objective is to attain leadership in the target segments of the insurance market", said Hannes Chopra, "I highly appreciate the performance results achieved by the Siberian Directorate and hope that in the future we will continue successful business development in the region, while establishing, during the company’s restructuring process, a more efficient structure eliminating duplication of functions and oriented, above all, towards creating comfort customer service environment. This objective is relevant to each of our branches".

Mr. Maxim Chernin told about the prospects of development of the life insurance sector in Russia and the Siberian region. Among ROSNO’s strategic initiatives for the years 2008 to 2010 are: formation of a network of family clinics (in Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk) under the voluntary medical insurance development program, as well as organization of cross sales of products offered by Allianz ROSNO Life and Allianz ROSNO Asset Management.
